Perception

This piece is an exploration of perception.
When you wear it, the object seems to be made of hard-to-define parts. But when you look into a mirror, a specific angle shows a reflection of yourself wearing a crown and holding an orb and cross. Through your own eyes, you see success, power, and the heavy weight of responsibility.
Yet, this image exists only in your mind. To an outside observer, through the light and shadow, they see birds resting on you—light, free, and ready to fly away. This specific angle gives the image a fleeting feel.
I want to express that when we look at the same thing from different angles and through different mediums, new possibilities always emerge.
The viewer completes this art piece. Rather than standing by as an observer, you are invited to experience it directly in the first person.

During the exhibition, I was happy to see people find even more in the piece. I designed two main characters, but some people found out a third or fourth image in their minds, and some saw nothing at all. I loved every answer—it showed that people were beginning to explore beyond their usual boundaries of perception.
Material & Technique:
Crafted from nylon using 3D Selective Laser Sintering (SLS) technology. I consciously chose not to give it a fine jewellry finish, intentionally keeping it hard to define.
